I have a "World Foods" class and this is the project we spend the first half of the semester on. In this project, it carries students through various steps of choosing a country, choosing a topic/issue in that country, researching both and propose a solution to this issue.
 
For this unit, I take the World Food Prize contest (https://www.worldfoodprize.org/), add additional information and all allow students to submit this project to the state competition.
