Topic 1 - Water Scarcity

Affect on Country - Limited drinking water supply for the growing population of the Country.

If agriculture keeps at its rate then desertification will begin in eastern and southern areas.

If water usage is not limited or people emigrate from Iran then the shortage will destroy Iran.

Actions Taken - Scientists have given multiple options such as water reuse and wastewater recycling as the most feasible and affordable. These would be best used for places that do not require high-quality water to thrive.

Two things that could solve the problem - One that could be reasonable would be reusing low-quality water for places such as parks that do not require high-quality water.

Another way to solve the problem would be to find technology or get help from others who know about water technology to find new ways to refine water

Topic 2 - Human Rights

Affect on Country - Human rights that have been taken from the Iranian people include the right to free speech and peaceful assembly. This creates tension and trust issues between countries and citizens. This leads to violent outbreaks that lead to injuries and death to citizens and government workers.

Actions Taken - The government implemented a death penalty to try and stop the protests as a negative incentive. This was proven ineffective. Then the government tried to stop the revolts by arresting leading officials that were leading the protests. No matter what the government has done to stop the protests the fight for human rights has not stopped.

Two things that could stop the problem - For starters the government could give in and let the people of their country have basic rights that should be allowed to anyone. This would stop the violence that takes place within the country of Iran. It would also give people more of a chance to let themselves be heard in a country with little human rights.

Topic 3 - Population

Affect on Country - The country is facing a crisis of having too little women for the population growth. Iranian officials are saying that women should have at least five children. This “shortage” of women has led to negative population growth. The fertility rate has dropped in Iran as well.

Actions Taken - Iranian officials have suggested that women have more children. The government has lifted the population policy so that Iran can hopefully increase its youth percentage to be a lot more than the aging population. This means that Iran’s births per woman can go back to what it was in 1977 at about 6 births per woman.

Two ways to solve the problem - The government has done a good job by lifting the population policy, but now the problem is making sure that men and women are doing their part to have more children. Also if there are any procedures to increase fertility in women to give any better chance to have more children and keep up a steady population.

Topic 4 - Renewable Energy

Affect on Country - With the world trying to transition over to renewable energy Iran will lose a lot of money in its biggest export. Oil. With the loss in the value of oil though Iran has vast potential in renewable resources. Although if the energy use does not decline it could double just this year.

Actions Taken - The government the past few years has decided to make it a standard to cut the dependency of oil around the world. This for Iran means losing some of its oil income, but it also helps them in the long run. Another way Iran has taken a step is to cut its energy use by using energy-efficient lightbulbs, appliances, better insulation for housing.

Two Ways to Solve the Problem - As what was stated in the article the country of Iran can take many small steps such as using energy-efficient appliances, or better insulating a house so that less heat needs to be used to warm the house. Another way Iran can solve this problem is by giving jobs to build renewable resources harvesting devices to some of its 12 percent of the population that is unemployed.

Topic 5 - Conflict

Affect on Country - The effects of conflict with the U.S. would be more than just for the country of Iran, but with the whole world. Iran would lose sales in its main export, oil. If conflict like war would arise of the situation Iran would increase the price of its oil and natural gases and would cause havoc on both the country’s parts.

Actions Taken - Iran has been working with the U.S. government on a nuclear deal that would be beneficial for both sides, and that there is no conflict or war between Iran and the U.S. The U.S. has taken measures to avoid any kind of war against Iran.

Two Ways to Solve the Problem - Any way to negotiate a deal on a better nuclear deal for Iran would be best to avoid any possible accidental or non-accidental war between the U.S. and Iran. The U.S. can also do everything in its power to avoid causing a conflict, and Iran can do the same as well.
